OUR VISION

The Association of Bolivian Women of the Washington DC Metropolitan Area believes that the key to resolve poverty and all the ills that affect our country in the long run is to help our children find a path towards development and hope. We think that Education is the answer and we will pursue ways to help educate our young in Bolivia.

The "Matilde Carmona v. de Busch" Fund, created in November 2005, honors the memory and life of our principal founding member and will help support educational initiatives in each of the nine departments of
Bolivia: Beni, Chuquisaca, Cochabamba, La Paz, Oruro, Pando, Potosi, Santa Cruz y Tarija.

We will start with a grant of $3,000 for each department. When we complete the first round, we shall reconsider the amount of the grant and the scope of our help.

The first grant was given to Fundación Arco Iris in La Paz, in January 2006.
